The year was 1923

It was the roaring twenties, American had just defeated the Germans in the Great War (World War one) and brought back home with them an economic boom the like of which the country had never seen before. The automobile, once a luxury, was now being mass produced by Henry Ford and even by now hundreds of thousands were driving the streets of America. Meanwhile, the popularity of jazz music was screaming across the radio waves to the ears of millions a day. The sad, sudden death of Warren G. Harding still lingered on America's mind and prohibition was alive and well, although that would be disputed by the people.

But our story takes place in New York, the empire state, during it's massive rise of both size and corruption. With the law of prohibition being enforced, the bootlegging of alcohol would bring rise to crime all the way from lowly street gangs to criminal syndicates.

The city that never sleeps, New York's hustle and bustle hasn't changed at all over the years.

It's towering skyline nearly blocks the sky from the street as taxis as well as personal automobiles crowd the snaking roads. Business truly is booming in the city of New York, from diners to black and white movie theaters, from broadway to its baseball field, if you're looking for something, New York City is sure to have it. The same goes with crime, the New York mafia families are often found feuding over territory and control on the streets and the underworld of the city.
